Introduction
The savanna in Africa covers about half of the continent. The Serengeti is one geographic area of this savanna. Around 70 large mammals species and 500 bird species live here. It is found between 1 and 3 degrees south latitudes and between 34 and 36 degrees east longitudes. The Serengeti covers about 12,000 sq. miles and spans over the northern side of Tanzania and the southern side of Kenya.
